"Musharraf and Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh discussed spectrum of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sectors," according to a Pakistani statement.
Meanwhile, Pakistani president emphasized the need for increased cooperation between Pakistan and Iran, IRNA reported.
"Pakistan is keen to enhance cooperation with Iran in every field, particularly in the economic sector," he said during talks with Zanganeh.
Zanganeh conveyed a message of goodwill from President Mohammad Khatami to President Musharraf during the meeting.
Musharraf assured full cooperation towards laying of a gas pipeline from Iran to India through Pakistan and stressed early feasibility of the Mega project.
The Pakistani president also underlined the need that the project should be implemented within the framework of the international standards.
He thanked President Khatami for his message of goodwill and invited the Iranian president to visit Pakistan.
Zanganeh hoped that his visit to Pakistan would serve to increase the existing bilateral cooperation in oil and gas sectors.
